Puig-Alt de Ter is a small municipality in the Ripollès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similar towns it issued its own emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republic's metal coinage effectively vanished from circulation. The Generalitat de Catalunya authorized local councils to fill the gap, producing a wave of highly localized paper that was never intended to travel far — typically redeemable only within the issuing municipality, making survival rates directly proportional to how thoroughly the local wartime records were later suppressed or lost.
Turró catalogues this as #2026, placing it within the dense middle register of documented Catalan municipal issues. Given the town's tiny population, the original print run was almost certainly small.
