| 备注 |
Pontons is a tiny municipality in the Alt Penedès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similarly small communities, it issued emergency paper money during the Civil War after the Republican government's decree of 1937 authorized local authorities to produce small-denomination currency to address the chronic shortage of coin. The cardboard construction was deliberate — thicker stock survived handling better in village-scale circulation where the same physical note might change hands dozens of times in a single market day.
Turró catalogues relatively few surviving examples from Pontons, which had a population small enough that total print runs were almost certainly measured in hundreds rather than thousands.
