Polopos is a small municipality in Granada province, and like hundreds of Spanish villages during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional emergency currency when small change collapsed entirely out of circulation. These local abastos notes — issued by the delegación responsible for rationing and supply — were produced under improvised conditions, typically in very limited quantities, and almost never formally documented at the time of issue.
The Gari catalogue reference remains unassigned, which is not unusual for Polopos material. Notes from villages of this size frequently surface as unrecorded or single-known examples.
