Opmerkingen

Planoles is a small village in the Ripollès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of other Catalan municipalities it issued its own emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War after the Republican government authorized local currency in 1936 to address a catastrophic shortage of small coin. These municipal notes — collectively cataloged under the broader bitllets locals classification — were typically produced in tiny print runs by local printers, often on whatever card stock was available.

Turró 1875 is among the less-documented Ripollès issues. The village's wartime population was small enough that surviving examples in any condition are genuinely uncommon.
