Pi de Llobregat — now Sant Feliu de Llobregat — was one of hundreds of Catalan municipalities that issued emergency paper money during the Civil War after the Republican government's decree of May 1937 authorizing local authorities to print fractional currency to address a severe coin shortage. The C.A.M. printer in Barcelona handled an enormous volume of these municipal issues simultaneously, which is why the typographic quality across the series varies so little despite the chaotic circumstances of production.
Turró catalogs this as a single-type issue, suggesting the municipality did not produce variant dates or denominations beyond this note.
