Osor is a small municipality in the Selva comarca of Girona, and like dozens of Catalan towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when Republican-zone coinage effectively disappeared from circulation after 1936. The Generalitat de Catalunya had authorized local issues, but quality and execution varied wildly — Imprenta Cabruja in Girona handled a number of these small-town commissions, which accounts for the relatively competent typography compared to notes produced on hand-presses in village back rooms.
Turró catalogs this as #1730. Osor's total population at the time was under five hundred, making the actual print run almost certainly very small.
