正面描述 Rudimentary wartime issue printed entirely in dark navy letterpress on plain cream stock, with no pictorial vignette or ornamental underprint. The issuing authority "LA COOPERATIVA OBRERA" is set in bold capitals across the upper margin, followed by the authorising clause in smaller roman type. The denomination "UNA PESETA" occupies the centre field in large bold capitals, with the place and date "ORELLANA LA VIEJA, SEPTIEMBRE 1937" positioned along the lower margin.

备注

Orellana la Vieja is a small municipality in Extremadura, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, it printed its own fractional currency when the Republic's coinage disappeared from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply stopped moving. These locally issued vales and billetes de necesidad were a direct response to the acute small-change shortage that paralyzed everyday commerce from 1936 onward.

The dual attribution — both the workers' cooperative and the municipal council — is unusual and suggests a negotiated arrangement, possibly reflecting the political tensions within Republican-held communities about who held legitimate issuing authority. Unlisted in Gari, which means surviving documentation is thin.
