| Anmerkungen |
Montros is a tiny settlement in the Pallars Jussà comarca of Lleida, and its municipal council issuing emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War placed it among hundreds of Catalan localities that printed their own fractional currency after the Republican government's July 1936 decree authorizing local issues to address the acute shortage of metallic coin. The Imprenta Josep Güell in La Pobla de Segur — the nearest town of any size — handled production for several of these micro-issues in the region, which accounts for certain typographic similarities across neighboring municipal notes.
Survival rates for Montros issues are extremely low, as the total print runs were negligible and redemption after the war was neither guaranteed nor widely pursued.
