Colectividad Nueva Aurora was one of the agrarian collectives established in Aragon under anarchist CNT-FAO administration during the Spanish Civil War. These village-level collectives frequently issued their own paper scrip — locally called "vales" or "moneda local" — to facilitate internal exchange after conventional currency became scarce or politically unacceptable. Molinos, a small municipality in Teruel province, was firmly within the collectivized zone through much of 1937.
The Garicano Moya catalog reference being unassigned suggests this piece remains poorly documented or was catalogued after the standard edition. Survival rates for Aragonese collective scrip are low — the collectives were forcibly dissolved by Republican government forces in August 1937, and much of what they had produced was simply discarded.
