Opmerkingen

Cooperativa Obrera Agrícola de Mengabril was one of hundreds of Spanish agricultural cooperatives and municipal bodies that issued emergency small-denomination paper during the early months of the Civil War, after the Republican government's decree of August 1936 effectively sanctioned local scrip to address the acute shortage of metallic coinage. Mengabril is a small municipality in Extremadura — Badajoz province — and its cooperative-issued notes are among the least documented of the regional emissions, which is why the Gari Montllor reference number remains unassigned.

Survival rate for material from this area is low; Extremadura saw heavy fighting and population displacement through 1936–1939.
