Obverse description The face is printed in blue on cream paper and composed entirely of typographic and ornamental letterpress elements. A large central cartouche with elaborate scrollwork and foliate guilloche surrounds the denomination '1'00 PTES.' and the authorising resolution date; value numerals also appear in the upper corners within plain rectangular frames. The issuing authority legend runs across the top, with a serial number below it, and a compulsory-tender notice is set in capitals along the lower margin, the whole enclosed within a dot-rule perimeter border.

Below, 'Sèrie A' and the denomination '1'00 PTES.' are set in large type, followed by the bond clause referencing the Caixa Municipal with a maturity date of 30 June 1938. Three signature lines — Alcalde, Dipositari, and Secretari-Interventor — appear across the centre, with the serial number repeated at the lower left and the printer's imprint at the lower right.

Lloret de Mar's wartime municipal issue is one of hundreds of local emergency notes — known collectively as "moneda de paper" or "bitllets de necessitat" — printed across Republican-controlled Catalonia after the July 1936 military uprising disrupted the normal supply of small-denomination coinage. The Generalitat de Catalunya authorized municipalities to issue their own fractional currency to keep local commerce functioning, and Ajuntament de Lloret de Mar acted on that authority in 1937.

Impremta Casa Franquet in Girona handled a significant number of these municipal commissions throughout the war, making their imprint one of the more frequently encountered among Catalan necessity notes.
