Opmerkingen

Laguarres is a village in the Ribagorza comarca of Huesca province, Aragon — a settlement so small that its wartime emergency scrip sits among the most obscure municipal issues of the Spanish Civil War. Like hundreds of other Aragonese councils, Laguarres produced local currency in 1936–37 when small-denomination coinage vanished entirely from circulation, hoarded or melted down in the chaos following the July coup. The Consejo Municipal issues from this region were almost never printed professionally; most were typewritten, rubber-stamped, or produced on whatever card stock the local secretary could find.

Gari Mon #809-C places this within a documented but genuinely rare series. Survival rates for Laguarres scrip are extremely low — the village's population was never large, circulation was purely local, and few pieces were preserved after the war ended.
