Reverse description The numeral 1 dominates the central field in large, bold relief, flanked on either side by the crowned Spanish coat of arms, which features the quartered royal escutcheon with the Pillars of Hercules as supporters. The denomination PESETA is inscribed in a straight legend across the lower field. The mint era designation E-87 appears in small characters in the upper portion of the field, and the Madrid mint mark is visible in the lower left area near the rim. A beaded border encircles the entire reverse design.
