| Obverse description | Central field displays the quartered coat of arms of the Spanish Republic, featuring the castles of Castile and the lion of Leon in the upper quarters, and the chains of Navarre and the pomegranate of Granada in the lower quarters, surmounted by a mural crown. The Pillars of Hercules flank the shield on either side, each wrapped with a ribbon bearing the legend PLUS ULTRA. The word PRUEBA appears as an arc along the upper border, while UNA PESETA is inscribed in a curved legend along the lower border. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
