| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of George Washington, first President of the United States (1789–1797), occupies the central field. The legend 'ISLA DE PUERTO RICO' arcs along the upper periphery, while the face value 'UNA PESETA' and the date '2009' appear along the lower periphery. The motto 'EN DIOS CREEMOS' and the word 'LIBERTAD' are inscribed in the mid-field flanking the effigy, with the mint mark 'PRM' also present. The design closely echoes the style of the United States Washington quarter, adapted for this Puerto Rican fantasy issue. |
