Guàrdia de Noguera is a small municipality in the Noguera comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, its municipal council issued emergency fractional currency in 1936–37 when Republican-zone coinage essentially vanished from circulation. The Generalitat de Catalunya had authorized local issues, but quality control was nonexistent — these notes were typically produced by local printers with whatever stock was available, and many are unique to a single print run with no confirmed reprint variants.
Turró catalogues this as #1198, placing it within the dense cluster of Lleida provincial issues. Documentation on specific print quantities for Guàrdia de Noguera has not survived.
