Opmerkingen

Fulleda is a tiny village in the comarca of Les Garrigues, Lleida province — its 1930s population was a few hundred at most. This note is among the smallest municipal emissions of the Spanish Civil War period, when the Republican government's decree of June 1937 formally authorised local councils to issue their own fractional currency in response to the near-total disappearance of metallic coinage from circulation. Many such pieces were produced on whatever card stock was locally available, which accounts for the variation in substrate weight seen across surviving examples of this series.

Turró catalogues fewer than a handful of Fulleda pieces. Scarcity here is a function of population size, not attrition.
