| 备注 |
Consejo Municipal de Frailes issued this 1 Peseta note as a local emergency currency — a practice that proliferated across Republican-held Spanish municipalities during the Civil War after the central government's coin shortage left small-denomination transactions effectively impossible. These municipal emissions were authorised under a 1936 decree but were often produced with whatever printing resources existed locally, resulting in highly variable quality across the series.
Frailes is a small town in the Jaén province of Andalusia. Notes from minor Jaén municipalities are among the more difficult to source, given low original production volumes and the disruption that followed Nationalist capture of the region.
