El Soleràs is a small municipality in Les Garrigues, a comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional currency when the Republic's coinage effectively vanished from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply unavailable. These municipal notes, collectively known as bitllets locals, were a decentralized response to a real transactional crisis, not a political gesture. Arts Gràfiques Ilerda, based in Lleida itself, printed many such notes for surrounding municipalities throughout 1937.

Turró catalogues this as #2382, placing it within a well-documented but still genuinely scarce series — El Soleràs was a tiny issuer, and low original print runs are the rule for villages of this size.
