备注	Coll de Nargó is a small municipality in the Alt Urgell comarca of Catalonia, and this 1 Peseta note is one of thousands of locally-issued emergency paper instruments produced across Republican-held Spain during the Civil War (1936–39). When the conflict disrupted coin supply chains and caused widespread hoarding of metal currency, municipalities — many with populations in the hundreds — were legally authorized to issue their own provisional paper money. The result was an extraordinary proliferation of hyper-local scrip, catalogued by Andreu Turró in his essential reference on the subject. Authentication rested entirely on the handwritten signatures and official municipal stamp applied at the time of issue — no intaglio printing, no watermarks.
