Comments

One of hundreds of local emergency notes — billetes locales or vales municipales — issued across Republican-held Spain during the Civil War after the flight of gold and silver coinage from circulation. Catral is a small agricultural municipality in the Vega Baja del Segura region of Alicante province; its note was printed not in the town itself but at Tipografía Alonso in nearby Almoradí, which served several surrounding communities with the same press.

The Gari Monerris catalogue remains the definitive reference for these Alicante-province emissions, and the 506-F designation places this firmly within a documented local series rather than an improvised one-off.
