| Opmerkingen |
Castilléjar is a small municipality in the northeast of Granada province, and like hundreds of similarly sized Republican-held towns in 1937, its local council issued emergency fractional currency — moneda local or billetes municipales — to compensate for the near-total disappearance of metallic coin from circulation. The Republican government had effectively lost control of the small-change problem by mid-war, leaving individual ayuntamientos and consejos to improvise. Castilléjar's issue is among the more obscure of these, with no known records of the print run or issuing authority beyond the note itself.
The Gari catalogue remains the primary reference for Spanish Civil War municipal issues, and a 502-A designation suggests limited variant documentation — possibly a single known type with no recorded sub-varieties.
