Castellvell del Camp is a small municipality in the Baix Camp comarca of Tarragona, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency paper money when the Republic's coin supply collapsed. These municipal notes — collectively called "paper moneda de necessitat" — filled the gap left by hoarded or melted metallic currency. Turró catalogued the series systematically, and 775 is among the more obscure entries: a village issue with almost no surviving documentation on print run or issuing authority composition.

Survival rates for notes from municipalities this small are low. Most circulated hard and briefly, then disappeared when the Nationalist advance rendered them worthless.
