Opmerkingen

Cambrils de Mar, a small fishing town on the Costa Daurada, issued its own emergency currency during the Spanish Civil War under the same municipal emergency framework that produced thousands of local bitllets locals across Catalonia between 1936 and 1939. The Republican government had authorized municipalities to print their own small-denomination notes to address the catastrophic disappearance of coin from circulation — hoarding and metal requisitions had stripped everyday commerce of anything useful below a few pesetas.

Imprenta Solé in Tarragona handled production for several nearby municipalities during this period, which sometimes creates attribution confusion among collectors. Turró #621 is the standard reference point for distinguishing the Cambrils issue from closely related local emissions.
