Cabrera d'Anoia is a small municipality in the Alt Penedès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similar towns it issued its own emergency fractional currency during the Spanish Civil War — a direct consequence of the acute shortage of small coinage that followed the July 1936 uprising. Municipal councils across Republican-held territory were effectively forced into becoming miniature issuing authorities almost overnight.
Turró #554 places this within the documented corpus of Catalan local issues, though surviving examples attributable to Cabrera d'Anoia are scarce, reflecting the town's small population and correspondingly limited print runs.
