备注

Benejúzar is a small municipality in the Vega Baja del Segura, Alicante province, and like hundreds of other Republican-controlled towns during the Civil War, it issued its own local emergency currency when the Nationalist blockade and the demands of wartime drained coinage from circulation entirely. These municipal suplencias were never intended to circulate beyond the town limits — they were stopgap instruments, often printed on whatever stock was available and authenticated by a handstamp rather than any sophisticated security measure.

The Garrido Montaño reference places this within a well-documented but still substantially incomplete cataloguing of Spanish Civil War local issues, many of which survive in only a handful of examples.
