| 备注 |
Beceite is a small municipality in the Matarraña comarca of Teruel, and like hundreds of other Republican-controlled towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency paper currency when the central government's coin supply collapsed in 1936–37. The hoarding of metallic currency — driven by panic and silver's intrinsic value — created an acute shortage of small change that local councils were left to solve themselves. These municipal emissions had no legal standing beyond their issuing town and were often rejected by neighboring villages.
The official stamp served as the primary authentication device in the absence of sophisticated printing infrastructure — a rubber or metal seal applied after printing to distinguish authorized notes from forgeries.
