Opmerkingen

Aínsa is a small medieval town in the Aragonese Pyrenees, and its Comité Local Revolucionario was one of hundreds of local revolutionary committees that issued emergency fractional currency during the Spanish Civil War after the Republican government's coin supply collapsed in 1936. These hyper-local emissions were never coordinated centrally — each committee improvised format, material, and denomination independently, which is why this piece exists on thick card stock rather than printed banknote paper.

Survival rates for Aínsa issues are poor. The town changed hands and the committee's authority evaporated with the Nationalist advance into Aragon in 1938.
