Reverse description Cream-colored circular cardboard reverse bearing black-printed text denoting the revalued denomination and issuing authority. A circular red municipal handstamp is applied over the original design, serving as an official validation mark. The legend declares the token's value in Catalan and identifies the municipal council and the counseling of health and social assistance. As with the obverse, this reverse was originally issued as a 25 Centimos token (Turró#40) and subsequently overstamped to circulate as 1 Peseta during the Civil War emergency.

Additional information

Aigüestoses del Llobregat — a small municipality in the Berguedà comarca — issued emergency cardboard currency during the Spanish Civil War, when the Republican zone faced a catastrophic shortage of small-denomination coinage. The central government's inability to supply fractional currency forced hundreds of Catalan municipalities to print their own local scrip, legal only within their own borders. These ajuntament emissions were officially sanctioned under a 1937 Generalitat de Catalunya decree that retroactively legitimized what was already widespread practice.

At 48mm, this is an unusually large format for a one-peseta cardboard note, more token than bill.
