Military scrip issued by a Republican Army unit during the Spanish Civil War — a category of emergency local currency that proliferated at the brigade and battalion level when central Republican supply and pay structures broke down. Individual units were often left to organize their own internal exchange, producing notes of wildly varying quality and authority.
