Obverse description Central field displays the colonial Coat of Arms of Victoria, featuring a quartered shield with a lion and a kangaroo as supporters on either side, surmounted by a radiant sun. A ribbon scroll at the base of the shield bears the motto ADVANCE AUSTRALIA. The legend PEACE & PLENTY arcs across the upper field, and the date 1863 appears in the exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
