The uniface nature of this piece is unusual even within the already irregular world of colonial merchant tokens, with the blank reverse suggesting either a production shortcut or a damaged die that was pressed into service regardless. CCT PE-2 attribution places this among the earliest documented copper tokens specific to the island.
