| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central voided short cross dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a quatrefoil of pellets. The cross and pellet arrangement are contained within an inner beaded circle, beyond which the moneyer and mint name legend is arranged. The reverse follows the standard Short Cross penny format introduced under Henry II and continued through the reigns of Richard I, John, and the early years of Henry III. The moneyer inscription identifies the individual responsible for production at the named mint. |
