| Obverse description | Central field bears the colonial coat of arms of Queensland, featuring a quartered shield displaying a bull, a sheaf of wheat, a ship under sail, and an anchor, surmounted by a rising sun. The shield is supported by an emu on the dexter side and a kangaroo on the sinister side. A scrolled banner below the shield carries the motto ADVANCE AUSTRALIA in relief.
