Obverse description Facing crowned bust of King Henry VII within a beaded inner circle, the effigy rendered in the archaic medieval style typical of early Tudor hammered coinage. The king is depicted with long, wide-flowing hair falling to either side of the face, wearing an open arched crown decorated with pellets. The facial features are stylized and frontal, characteristic of the 'Old type' portrait. The royal legend surrounds the bust, separated by the inner beaded border.
