Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Henry VII in the medieval English style, rendered with bold, somewhat stylized features characteristic of hammered silver coinage. The king is depicted full-faced with long flowing hair falling to either side, wearing an open crown adorned with pellets or jewels across the band. The bust is set within a plain inner circle, with the surrounding field showing the abbreviated Latin regal legend. The portrait is executed in low relief with the broad, flat treatment typical of late 15th-century English hammered pennies.
