| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long cross pattée extending to the beaded inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters each containing a trefoil of pellets, a distinctive feature of Class G coinage. An annulet is placed in the first (upper left) quarter as a mint or class differentiating mark. The reverse legend, inscribed in uncial Latin script between the inner and outer circles, identifies the Durham ecclesiastical mint. The overall design follows the standard late medieval English penny format, with the cross serving both decorative and practical functions as a cutting guide for halfpennies and farthings. |
