| Descrizione del rovescio | A voided long cross extends to the coin's edge, dividing the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a group of three pellets arranged around a central pellet at the intersection of the cross arms. This long cross design was deliberately introduced under Henry III's coinage reform to deter clipping, as the cross arms reaching the coin's rim allowed easy detection of any reduction in size. The moneyer's name and mint town appear in the surrounding legend, divided across the four quadrants in uncial script. |
