| Aanvullende informatie |
Fiji's switch from bronze to copper-nickel for its penny coinage came as part of a broader Commonwealth-wide materials shift following postwar metal shortages and the need to redirect copper stocks toward industrial recovery. The result is a noticeably harder, lighter-toned coin than its prewar predecessors — one that collectors frequently misidentify as a later issue without checking the date.
KM#17 covers only four years of production, ending with George VI's death in February 1952.
