Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief after the neoclassical style characteristic of Küchler's Soho Mint productions. The legend is disposed around the periphery, with the date appearing below the truncation of the bust. The portrait conveys a mature, idealised likeness of the monarch, with fine detailing in the laurel wreath and drapery at the shoulder.

Reverse description Seated allegorical figure of Britannia facing left, holding a trident in her left hand and extending an olive branch in her raised right hand. A shield bearing the Union flag rests at her left side, and a stylised sea with a sailing ship occupies the background to the left. The mint name SOHO appears incuse on a rock to the right of the figure, with the legend BRITANNIA disposed above along the upper periphery. The composition reflects the bold, high-relief engraving style associated with Matthew Boulton's Soho Mint.
