| Reverse description | A central shield-shaped cartouche, rendered with a satin frosted finish, depicts a standing Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) in full figure facing left, engraved by Leslie Lindsay with fine naturalistic detail. The numeral 1, denoting the face value, is inscribed at the base of the cartouche. Flanking the central shield on both sides are ornate sprays of stylised Manx flora, including bell-shaped blossoms and ribbon-tied botanical motifs, with additional decorative Celtic knotwork elements bordering the lower field. A small triskelion figure appears at the top of the design, consistent with Manx heraldic iconography. |
