Obverse description The obverse features a large central round hole surrounded by the circular legend 'QUEEN·ELIZABETH·THE·SECOND' in raised Latin lettering, disposed around the annular field. A St. Edward's Crown is prominently displayed above the hole at the top of the design, rendered in fine relief. The rim is defined by a continuous milled border of small square denticles. No effigy of the monarch appears, the design relying solely on the royal title and crown as symbols of authority.
