1 Penny - Edward VIII

正面描述	Central round hole flanked by two stylised birds of paradise with outstretched wings rendered in an Art Deco manner, designed by George Kruger Gray. A St Edward's Crown surmounts the upper portion of the design above the hole. Below the hole, the royal cipher E·R·I· appears in large interlaced script. The engraver's initials K·G are incuse in the field to either side of the crown base. The entire design is encircled by a beaded border.

背面描述	Central round hole surrounded by an ornate, symmetrical Melanesian-style decorative motif of interlaced scrollwork and stylised bird or mask forms, executed in high relief by George Kruger Gray. The legend TERRITORY·OF·NEW·GUINEA· runs along the upper periphery, while ONE·PENNY·1936 is inscribed along the lower periphery, all separated by dot stops. The engraver's initials K·G appear in the field to either side of the central hole. A continuous beaded border frames the entire reverse.
