| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned facing bust of King Edward I within an inner beaded circle, rendered in the characteristic hammered style of the late 13th-century English sterling penny. The royal effigy features pellet eyes and drapery depicted as two wedge-shaped projections at the neck. The crown is of the flatter form introduced in class 9, and a pellet or star ornament frequently appears on the breast. A Latin legend in uncial characters encircles the portrait between the inner and outer beaded borders. |
