The king wears a floriate crown with three prominent fleurs, and his hair falls in short curls at the temples. Drapery is indicated at the base of the bust by a simple neckline detail. The surrounding legend, in uncial Latin characters, reads + ЄDW R' ANGL' DNS hyB, proclaiming Edward as King of England and Lord of Ireland.
