| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long cross pattée extending to the coin's edge divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a trefoil of pellets arranged symmetrically in the angles of the cross. The mint name legend is distributed around the circumference between the arms of the cross and the beaded border. The design follows the standard reverse type established for the Edward I Sterling coinage reform of 1279, with the cross serving both a decorative and an anti-clipping function. The pellets in the quarters are clearly defined, consistent with the crisp die work of the London mint. |
