| Beschrijving keerzijde | A voided long cross divides the field into four quarters, each containing three pellets arranged in a triangular grouping, a design diagnostic of the Class 1c sterling penny. The arms of the cross extend to a beaded inner circle, beyond which the mint name is inscribed in two words on either side of the cross in uncial Latin lettering. A further beaded border frames the entire reverse. The crisp cruciform layout and pellet arrangement are the principal diagnostic features used to classify this issue within the Edward I coinage series. |
