| Reverse description | The reverse is likewise entirely epigraphic, bearing no central device or imagery. The legend LADIES WAREHOUSE curves along the upper periphery, while QUEENSLAND runs along the lower periphery, both following the inner beaded border. The word BRISBANE is inscribed across the central field in raised capital letters, identifying the location of the issuing establishment. The beaded border frames the design in a manner consistent with the obverse, giving the token a balanced, text-only composition characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century Australian colonial trade tokens. |
