| Obverse description | Central field displays the three-feathered Prince of Wales badge — three ostrich plumes issuing from a coronet — rendered in fine relief within a raised inner circle. A scroll or motto ribbon encircles the base of the coronet. The surrounding legend reads BIRMINGHAM & SOUTH WALES along the upper periphery, with the date 1812 positioned at the lower margin. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, characteristic of Soho Mint production of the period. |
