| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long voided cross extending to the coin's beaded border divides the reverse into four quarters, each containing a six-pointed mullet (star) at its centre. The cross arms are bold and well-defined, characteristic of the Class A type of Alexander III's second coinage. The six-pointed mullets in each quarter are clearly struck and serve as the primary decorative motif distinguishing this class. The reverse legend, reading in two segments across the divided field, names the king as Rex of Scots. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
